Marcia was the rock, as well as the heart, of her family — a steady source of strength, comfort, and unconditional love. Her home was always open and welcoming; the place where her friends and family would gather and make the memories that are etched in their hearts forever. She loved to pack up all six of her kids and take them on adventures all across Long Island. She and her husband took their children and later their grandchildren on many camping trips filled with fun and laughter.
In retirement, Marcia and John lived their last 16 years together in Jacksonville, NC where she spent many rewarding hours donating her time to the Richlands Methodist Church Thrift Shop. Her entire family enjoyed visiting the beautiful home she created there. Marcia will be remembered for her affection for the animals she adopted throughout the years. She will also be remembered for her love of nature and most of all her passion for planting and caring for her beautiful flower gardens in both Long Island and North Carolina.
Marcia is survived by her children, Johnnie Sue (Clinton) Metzger, Robert Clinton and his wife Darlene, Jeffrey Clinton and his wife Cindy, and Kelley (Clinton) Llewellen and her husband Evan. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to her 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, and her precious children, Jamie (Clinton) Gentili and Michael Clinton.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at D’Andrea Funeral Home at 99 Oak St., Copiague, NY 11726 with visiting hours from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, and in Marcia's memory, the family has requested donations be made to Alzheimer's Association.
