Margaret H. Weber
April 18, 1932 – April 7, 2019
Margaret Weber, affectionately known as Peggy to all who knew and loved her, passed on Sunday, April 7th, just days short of her 87th birthday.
Peggy was born in Brooklyn, New York, to her late parents, Floyd and Anna Aldrich; and was raised in Middle Village, Queens. In the early 1950’s she met her future husband, William S. Weber, who hailed from Brooklyn himself, having been raised in Greenpoint. They met through mutual family, and married in 1954. For seven years, they made their home in Elmhurst, Queens. In 1961, she and Bill moved to Long Island where they bought their first - and only home; in Copiague; spending their lifetime and raising their two daughters.
During her years of work, Peggy was Secretary to the Principal of Deauville Gardens Elementary School in Copiague. She had a passion for arts and crafts, loved to crochet, and was a member for many years with the Home Extension of Lindenhurst. She also enjoyed line dancing, and was a 25+ year member of the Tanner Park Senior Center, where she made many close friendships.
In addition to her parents, Peggy is predeceased by her beloved husband, William; and her brother, Raymond Aldrich. Surviving are her family – her daughter, Patti Moodnik; her daughter, Cathy Fox and son-in-law, Franklin Fox; her grandson, Scott Moodnik and his wife, Barbara; and her sister-in-law, Lillian Smith.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday, April 11th, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. On Friday, April 12th, Pastor David Anglin of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Amityville will offer the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.
