We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Mary, a cherished homemaker who was the heart and soul of her family.
Mary found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a familiar and friendly face in her community, frequently visiting the local library, spending time with friends at the Copiague Senior Center, and visiting Tanner Park. Her hands were rarely still; she loved knitting and crocheting Christmas stockings and blankets, working on puzzles, playing Bingo, bowling, and relaxing with adult coloring books. At home, she thoroughly enjoyed watching her favorite game shows and soap operas. She also shared her heart deeply with her pets, Gabby and Lilly, as well as all of the companion animals that brought joy to her home over the decades.
A woman with a sparkling spirit, Mary loved to get out and work various part time jobs and brought her friendly service to local delis, catering halls, and luncheonettes over the years. She truly knew how to make everyone feel at home, wherever she was. She was happiest when everyone was gathered together for celebrations, milestones, and holidays. She never missed an opportunity to capture a moment. Always with her camera in hand, Mary acted as the family’s dedicated videographer and photographer. Because of her passion for taking pictures, her family is left with an abundance of beautiful, tangible memories that will carry them through this difficult time. The family will also will cherich her curio angels and timeless collectibles that she accumulated with passion over the years.
Mary was also well known for her wonderful attention to detail. She took great pride in her signature look, always wearing her favorite bracelets and earrings, and she never held back from noticing the small details in others—frequently sharing warm compliments on someone's shoes, hair, or accessories. This thoughtful, observant nature was a true reflection of her care for those around her.
Mary’s legacy of love lives on through her large and devoted family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edward Rock; her son, Paul; and her daughter, Donna, along with her husband Mike. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved late son, Eddie Rock (2024) Mary was the beloved grandmother of ten: Paulie, Tyler, Alyssa, Michael, Diana, Deanna, Johnny, Jessica, Anthony, and Gionna; and the proud great-grandmother of Kaiden, Elena, Madison and Aurora. She also leaves behind her surviving siblings, Jerry, Stella, and Linda.
Mary’s warmth, her vibrant spirit, and the countless moments she captured through her camera lens will ensure her story is told for generations to come. She will be forever missed and loved.
