Born on December 27, 1968, in Queens, New York, Michael was the beloved son of Joseph Bornkamp and Shirley DeVeau. He shared 19 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Dawn D. Bornkamp, who was the love of his life and his constant companion.
Michael worked as a forklift operator and was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He was the kind of man you could always count on if you found yourself in a jam. His generous spirit, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Dawn; his mother Shirley; his siblings, Gail, Jeanne, Joe, Trisha, and John; and his cherished pet, Captain Chaos. Michael was also a devoted father to his beloved dogs who preceded him in passing: Rocky, Lacy, Spirit Wolf, and Nakita Bear, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Michael found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working in the yard, helping family and friends whenever they needed him, grilling a good steak, enjoying game nights, and attending concerts. A lifelong fan of Southern rock, he was devoted to Lynyrd Skynyrd until the very end.
Those who knew Michael will remember his warmth, his sense of humor, and the genuine care he showed to others. He was a good man with a great heart, and his presence made the world a better place. If you were fortunate enough to know him, you were truly blessed.
A loving message from his wife Dawn:
"I love you now, forever, and then some. Thank you for the love, laughter, and memories we shared. You will always be in my heart and by my side. Until we meet again."
Michael's memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him and in the countless lives he touched through his kindness, friendship, and generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
