On Thursday, September 10, 2020, Theresa Perry, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away peacefully at the age of 71.

Theresa Perry was born on February 25, 1949 to John & Josephine Liszewski in New York City. She was one of 8 siblings. She graduated high school and married Peter Perry on July 4, 1970. Their first born son, Christopher, was born on November 20, 1972. After moving to Long Island their second son, Scott, was born on August 13, 1977. The Perry family moved to Amityville in 1980 and it was there where she remained for the rest of her life.

Theresa began working for the Amityville School District in 1984 and moved up to secretary as well as President of the secretaries union. She retired in 2018.

Theresa’s life and love centered around family both close and extended, by blood or by friendship. She opened the doors of her home to any and all who wished to come in and always treated them as if they were blood relatives. Her infectious laughter and sense of humor are remembered far and wide. Her love of cooking, which she termed “my form of therapy” was well regarded among family and friends. Her love of Christmas was memorable as she would often have her home filled with food and the door kept wide open until the late hours of the night for anyone to come by for some food and holiday cheer. She loved reading her Kindle which housed thousands of books, listening to her oldies music, watching John Wayne westerns and cheesy horror movies.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Jeanette, Lillian and Irene, her brothers Walter and Edward and her nephew Jonathan. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Peter, her sons Christopher and Scott, her daughter-in-law Laurie, her brothers John and Theodore, her sister-in-law Linda, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home for visitation on Monday, September 14th, from 2:00 - 4:30 and 7:00 - 9:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in Amityville on Tuesday, September 15th at 9:30 p.m. Cremation is private.

Terry I remember you fondly as the first person I got to know when I started working in Amityville in 2000. You were so funny and kind. When Park Ave. Moved back home and I stayed at the middle school , I always looked forward to seeing you when I had a meeting or did summer school at Park Ave. I can’t believe you’re not here with us anymore. May you Rest In Peace.

Theresa,
Chris and I have been great friends for so long ,we basically grew up together. You were a part of that and witnessed far too many of my shenanigans
And from that many great memories come to mind...
From my daily calls with " big concert news ", to " let me help chop down that stump " and of course who can forget the infamous " chicken soup incident and the potato pancake " fiesta

I just thought I would share something that helps celebrate her incredible life. I am sad that you are gone , but you are now at rest. You fought long and hard and had an incredible life. The life you lived will be carried always with your incredible sons Chris Perry, Scott W. Perry and your loving husband of 50 years Pete.
I am sorry that I can't be there due to unforseen circumstances, but just know how much I love you and will miss you dearly

No more fighting, no more pain, you are now another beautiful angel
Love you always,
Mag

I was lucky enough to work with Terry for many years at Park Ave School. Terry took care of us as she took care of the business of the school. Sending love and prayers to your family. Rest in Peace Terry.

She was one of the most beautiful people to ever grace this Earth. I shared many laughs and wonderful times with her. Will always love you and miss your laugh but will hold it forever in my heart.
