Tom was born in Brooklyn to his late parents, Thomas and Evelyn. Following his education, and career, Tom was able to settle into retirement.
His family recalls a man who loved being at home enjoying war movies on television or simply reading. Tom loved to spend time with his grandchildren, which includes getting his then 4-year old granddaughter, Adrianna to join him in a game of Poker and teaching her how to play; and as well with his granddaughter, Angelina, in a game of Pool. Tom's family smiles when remembering how he was their own "McGuyver"; a guy who would teach others "life lessons" and when necessary lovingly give them pointers on where it was they went wrong!
But he also had an 'outdoor' side - he was a man who would look forward to a little escape upstate to hunt, whether it was deer, duck or turkey. Tom loved talking and teaching his grandsons, John and Joseph, about hunting; and would frequently speak about passing down equipment and also his knowledge to them. Years ago he had a Harley, and enjoyed getting out all by himself onto Ocean Parkway to Jones Beach just for the love of being on the bike and doing the ride.
Tom leaves his beloved wife, Elizabeth; his children - Julia and his son-in-law, John; Michael and his daughter-in-law, Alma; and Alison and his son-in-law, James; and his four grandchildren - John, Adrianna, Joseph and Angelina. He will be forever loved, and forever missed.
At this time, all services are private. Remembrances may be sent personally to the family, or directed to the funeral home.
