03-29-17  Dear Father-In-Law, I want you to know, I've always thought of you as a remarkable man. A man of integrity, strength, compassion and patience. A man who knows and enjoys simple pleasures. Thank you for the gift of your son. He is all of the above and he loves me as much as I love him. He is a wonderful father...an example you were to him. Thank you for the gift of your daughter. She is all of the above and keeps us all together.  Thank you for being a wonderful grandfather to our children. They have many happy, wonderful memories of spending time with you. Your homemade cards, treats from the passing ice cream truck, and just enjoying being with them. And for me? Thank you for being my family. Rest sweet, may God's embrace give you peace.

03-29-17  Hey Pop.  Make sure to tell grandpa about the time at the grocery store with him when I first found out he was your dad and it blew my mind, it's one of my oldest memories of grandpa! I always remember him giving me fake haircuts, or giving me quarters because he knew I liked them and I even remember him sitting in my room once when I was very young because I was too scared to fall asleep. So tell him thanks for putting up with that! Not sure if he'd remember, but in my room at my house I actually have a framed American Flag that he gave me from their garage in New York and it always meant a lot to me that he let me have it.  Also tell him that he is basically the reason why I could be a world class checkers player and that I always appreciate him letting me win! He's always been a great grandpa and I love him very much.

03-29-17  Dear Grandpa, I just want to say I love you very much and you mean so much to me. I remember the best times we've had together like you would sneak me money behind my parents' back, even with a $20 bill! You would play the "spider game" on my back and I would play hairstylist and mess with your hair! I want you to know that I will always love you and I will keep you in my heart forever. The best thing I can say about my friend, "Mr. Yack", was that he reminded me of my dad, Lenny, and he always treated me like a second son ... He was without a doubt, the nicest, kindest man I have ever known. I will miss our regular phone calls about the Yankees, Giants, the weather, whatever. His best advice to me was 'Do your best, Forget the Rest'..  You were a Good Man, my friend, and will never be forgotten.. Rest in Peace Mr. Yack ....         Tommy Malabo    Tucson, AZ.

Grandpa was always the voice of reason and calm in the back of my mind. When my siblings and I were younger, he never failed to chase us around no matter how exhausting we were. Aside from being a master at Uno, he was skilled at sneaking stuff to us grandchildren behind my parents backs (such as money and desserts) when we were younger. He always reminded us to say our prayers every night and was the perfect Grandpa anyone could have been lucky to have. Now he and Grandma are back together again.

I met Vinny, when he moved to New Hampshire. He was a quiet kind of a guy except when he played Uno. He was somewhat of a card shark and showed no mercy. It was obvious that he loved his family so much. He will be greatly missed. Vinny, I'll always think of you on Thursday's at 1.
