I met Abel Garcia 18 years ago when I first became associated with Prospera Financial. Over the years, I came to deeply admire and respect Abel Garcia. Abel always was generous with his time and attention. He always made time to talk, no matter how busy he was, he would give you his full attention. He always looked for ways that something could work, always constructive and solutions oriented. Whatever it was, he was always committed to the right outcome. When I was doubtful, he was encouraging and an anchor for something amazing was possible.

I grew to love able deeply, for his heart, for his values, his faith and his always walking the walk. I know that Abel is now in the Lord Jesus’ hands, as he has gone home to the best place to be with our Lord and Savior.

I will miss you greatly, Abel, until I see you again.

Abel was one of the good guys. In a world filled with cynics, Abel tried to do to the right thing. I had the pleasure of getting to know him through work and always respected his opinions and creativity. He cared about people and cared about his family. I had dinner with him once on a trip where we talked about our families and life experience and just remember how great a time with both had. That is how I will remember him. Talking about our different, but shared experiences.

It is with great sorrow that Abel is no longer here with us. My heart goes out to his mother and Danny and Cynthia. All of you are in my prayers.

Just wanted to say, it was such a gentle soul, an awesome singer who was so talented. GOD needed some more song writers and singers in his kingdom of heaven. He will be missed by so many.

I met Abel at a Prospera function years ago and always thought of him as a Pillar at Prospera. And whenever Abel called, I listened:) I've carried Abel on my prayer list for years and today, as his name came up, I thanked God for him. He fought the good fight and won! Cheers to you, Mr. Abel! For all you instilled in others, all you gave in wisdom, in character, and in love to everyone. Praying now for Abel's family and friends. God bless.

He was a pro. When you worked with him, there was no doubt about his capabilities.

He was a father. He left do doubt about his love and dedication to his daughter.

He was a friend. There was nothing you could ask of him he wouldn't give.

For me, Abel proved that a highly logical mind could perfectly coexist with a beautifully artistic and creative intellect. This convergence of these two seemingly antithetical themes was one of many perfect paradoxes that made up Abel. I am not alone when I share that he pushed me to be a better professional and person. He had a vision of what was right/needed for a complicated scenario and many of us will smile when we think of one of his sketches when explaining his vision to us. Though it frustrated me at the time, he never accepted “I don’t think we can accomplish this” as an answer. Through his encouragement, faith and stubbornness, he often pushed me to find a way to help him make his vision happen (or close enough). His caring heart was given without question, but his professional approval and praise was hard earned, and thus so much more valued when received. I am grateful for the opportunities I had to earn his praise, and am disappointed I didn’t say “Yes” enough times to invitations to go out to lunch with him. When I see you again, lunch is on me Abel!

I am truly blessed to have known such an inspirational leader and friend. I will always be grateful for Abel's patience and encouragement to me both professionally and personally. He will continue to enrich my actions, thoughts and decisions for the upcoming years. I'll always remember Abel's huge smile and light in his eyes when he spoke of Mia.
Wishing you peace, comfort and strength.

Abel was one of the real good guys, he was always there when needed and with good common sense. He will be missed, but he is with the Lord.

Abel was a kind and gentle soul. He cared deeply for his friends and family. I can honestly say that there is nothing in this world he would not do for me or those he loved. He made me laugh, he brought me joy; yes, he even frustrated me, but we shared a great friendship. My heart is heavy over the loss of my dear friend. As the sun sets on our time here, we do not relinquish our light. We simply move, and have new life where the light never ends. Rest in peace Abel. I will see you again in your new home.
