

Alice was born on July 3, 1938, in Port Arthur, Texas, to Carl and Cynthia Fay Smith. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1956 and went on to build a dedicated career with Jefferson County, where she served as a Purchasing Agent until her retirement at the age of 63.
Alice met the love of her life, Fred Brockschmidt, and together they built a beautiful life over 65 years of marriage. Their devotion to one another was a true example of lasting love and partnership.
Alice had a passion for cooking and gardening. Her yard was always in bloom, reflecting the care and pride she took in making her home welcoming and beautiful. She especially loved preparing meals and sweet treats for her grandchildren and their friends, creating memories around her table that will be cherished for years to come.
Above all, Alice loved her family. They were her greatest joy and highest priority, and she devoted her life to caring for and supporting them.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Brockschmidt Ethridge and her husband, Randy Ethridge; her beloved grandchildren, Brock Ethridge and Brant Ethridge; her sister, Sue Woods; and her brother, Johnny Smith.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred Brockschmidt, and her brother, Carl Smith Jr.
Alice will be remembered for her kindness, devotion to her family, and the warmth she brought into every life she touched. Her legacy of love will continue to live on in all who knew her.
