

Anacleto Edmundo Fernandes, 86, passed away peacefully on 23rd April 2016. Cleto as he was known to all his friends and loved ones was born in Harare, Zimbabwe on 13 July 1929. As a young man he went off to boarding school in Goa India where he had many of his values and strong faith instilled by Catholic Capuchin priests. On finishing school, he returned to Harare where he ran the family business together with his brothers and father. In 1964 he journeyed back to India where he met and married his beloved wife, Eliza. After retiring they immigrated to the United States, a country he loved dearly, to be closer to family.They settled in Atlanta where they developed lifelong friendships. They relocated to Dallas in 2006 where Eliza passed away after suffering from breast cancer. Following Eliza’s death, he lived alone for several years but was then plagued by Alzheimer’s, whichresulted in him moving into the Silverado Community in Valley Ranch. Though initially resistant, he eventually came to love the Community and welcomed it as his second home. He is survived by his four children and their spouses, Valentino and Iona, Neville and Belinda, Yolanda and Rajiv and Melvin, his youngest son. His legacy includes 9 grandchildren (Daniel, Benjamin, Jason, Nate, Sarah, Sophia, Christopher, Isaac and Zachary) who were his pride and joy. In addition he is survived by 5 brothers, 3 sisters and numerous nephews and nieces scattered far and wide. A visitation and rosary will be offered up in his honor on Wednesday 27 April at 6pm at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home, 400 Freeport Parkway, Coppell and a celebration of life funeral mass at St Ann Catholic Church in Coppell at 10 am on 28 April.The family appreciate all the love and blessing and ask that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in Cleto’s name to the Alzheimer's Association Dallas Chapter
