OBITUARY

Bret Andrew Steinmann

January 18, 1995 – March 13, 2022
Obituary of Bret Andrew Steinmann
IN THE CARE OF

Rolling Oaks Funeral Home

On Sunday night, March 13, 2022, our beloved son Bret Andrew Steinmann, age 27, a young man of many talents, was suddenly taken from this earthly life to experience all the joy and glories of heaven. We have a sure faith he was greeted there by his Savior, Jesus, as well as by his beloved older brother Luke, and that thought makes us smile amidst our tears. While our grief is great, our hope remains steadfast that we’ll soon see him again.

Also known as Bretster, Bretmeister, and Bret-man in his younger years, Bret was born January 18, 1995, in St. Louis County, and we knew almost instantly he was all boy. He loved anything with trucks, cars, or Legos, avidly collected baseball cards, and was known for his fast-running skills, especially around the baseball field and basketball court. Raised in St. Charles, Missouri, until age 10 and later in Flower Mound, Texas, he loved nothing better than playing outside with his siblings, Luke, Sarah, and Cory, as well as with his dad and his neighborhood and homeschool friends. Whether playing wiffleball or “capture the flag,” swimming in the backyard pool, or playing the piano in a trio with Sarah and Cory, Bret was always exuberant and ready for fun. He excelled at his homeschool studies, was readily deemed a “math whiz,” showed an artistic bent, and enjoyed his close-knit family. He was caring and creative, witty and winsome, opinionated, persistent, and unafraid to speak before a crowd. He entered Faith Christian School his tenth-grade year, and when Luke passed away that spring, Bret readily stepped in as the “oldest brother” to Sarah and Cory. Despite his grief, Bret also began heading up the Steinmann brothers’ lawn mowing service, earning all his own spending money and some funds for college expenses as well. He also continued to serve on stage in several areas. Certainly, he delighted us all with his beautiful bass voice, taking on the major role of Fagin at school in the musical Oliver, playing the leader of the children’s band of thieves. He also continued leading worship time for young students at church, among other leadership roles, and graduated third in his class. Then after working in three different internships in various fields of business each summer, he graduated from Texas A&M in spring 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and subsequently started work as a financial analyst for Lennox International in Richardson. When Bret recently moved to the Austin area, he continued to love country music, sing to his playlist favorites, play the keyboard, and listen to informative podcasts to improve his skills in a variety of areas. He had much to offer the world.

Bret is deeply loved by his family, especially by us, his parents, as well as by his younger siblings Sarah and Cory. He is preceded in death by his brother Luke, his maternal grandparents, David and Sally Tanner; his paternal grandfather Harold Steinmann; as well as his grandpa Robert McEvoy. He is survived by his paternal grandmother, Carol McEvoy, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Bret will be laid to rest next to his brother Luke at Rolling Oaks Memorial Cemetery.

We would like to thank all the friends and family members who have reached out to us during this extremely difficult time, offering their prayers and messages of love and support. Bret is already deeply missed, and we won’t stop thinking of him and thanking God for him until we see his big smile once more, face to face.

A private service for the family has been scheduled for a later date.
