Carolina R. Gonzalez

Carolina “Carol” R. Gonzalez, age 80, passed away February 5, 2021, peacefully in her bed surrounded by loved ones. She was born in El Paso, TX where she lived and worked most of her life and married her husband, Jose Gonzalez. They were married for 53 years and had 3 daughters. A graduate of Jefferson High School, she played clarinet in the marching band and participated in ROTC.

Lovingly known as “Auntie Nina”, she was fiercely independent and didn’t pull any punches when giving her opinion. She told the truth even if it wasn’t what you wanted to hear. Her people watching skills were unmatched and you rarely had to guess what she was thinking because her face said it all. She loved bowling, dancing, and going to Vegas with her sisters every chance she got to hit the slots! But above all, she was unfailingly the most loyal, loving, strong, and beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother anyone could ask for. The emptiness left in our hearts by her absence we hope can be somewhat eased by the wonderful and unforgettable memories she gave us.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Feliciano and Carolina Ramos, daughter, Jennifer Gonzalez, step-son, Jose Gonzalez, Jr., brother, Ignacio Ramos, and brother-in-law Adan Lopez. She is survived by her husband, Jose Gonzalez, daughters, JoAnn Gonzalez and Jannette Morrow (James), Step-son, Juan Gonzalez (Maria), 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, sisters, Estela Lopez, Esperanza Gamboa (Albert), Alicia R. Barrientes (Daniel), Gloria Olson (Dave), and brother George Ramos (Carol), and countless nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will start at 4pm-6pm on Thursday, February 11, 2021 with a Rosary at 4:30.

A Funeral Liturgy Outside a Mass will start at 6pm in the Chapel at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home. The 6pm service will be livestreamed on Facebook. Please log into Facebook and search for Rolling Oaks Funeral Home page.
