Chad Lee Fredericksen

Husband, Father, Brother, Son and Friend. Chad Fredericksen, age 52 of Coppell, passed peacefully on July 23, 2018, in Grapevine, TX.

Chad was born to Larry and Jan Farrell Fredericksen, of Mitchell, South Dakota, on January 9, 1966. The oldest brother to Camy, Cary, and Bart: Chad had the gift to make everyone feel special, he truly wanted to know how you were doing. His kindness had no limits. He could always bring a smile to your face either with his encouraging words or his crazy sense of humor. He loved fast cars, expensive shoes, cheap beer and good wine. He loved to be on the water and to travel, but most of all he loved to be home with his wife kids, friends and family.

Chad’s level of adoration and devotion to Julie, Hadlee and Holden was unwavering. Chad and Julie loved, protected and cherished each other dearly. While he maintained a wide variety of life interests, being able to attend to the needs of his family was always the priority. Hadlee and Holden never doubted the love that their daddy had for them.

Chad loved his work within the hemophilia community. His involvement, both professionally and personally, touched the lives of so many living with bleeding disorders. He never failed to provide encouragement and guidance, based on a lifetime of experience. From an early age, Chad was taught to always keep going, don’t let anything stop you from accomplishing your goals. It was this attitude that allowed him to have a positive and compassionate influence on so many.

Chad’s loyalty to his parents and siblings and family, was a core guiding principle on which he based his life. He always appreciated the love and sacrifices that were made for his health and happiness.

Most important Chad was a man of great faith. He was a lifelong, devout Catholic who believed with all of his heart, mind and soul. He used his faith in prayer to help others as well as himself, through good times and bad. In the end it was this faith that allowed him to go peacefully and without fear or pain.

Chad is preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Zola Fredericksen and Del and Lorraine Farrell.

And survived in life by his loving wife, Julie King Fredericksen, Children; Hadlee and Holden Fredericksen of Coppell. His parents Larry and Jan Fredericksen of Mitchell, South Dakota, Brother Cary and wife Shelley Fredericksen, of White Lake, South Dakota, Bart and wife Nikki Fredericksen, of Mitchell, South Dakota and Sister Camy and husband Chris Culhane, of Tucson, Arizona. Chad was one of the nicest people I've ever known. I got the honor of coaching his son Holden this last season in baseball and spent a good half hour after every game or practice just sitting and talking with him. Even after having both knees replaced at the same time, he was more than determined to walk all the way back to his car at all the games and overload me with some ice cold water during our 90+ degree games! I've never known someone so selfless and caring in my entire life. Chad was a huge mentor to me and I will sincerely miss him.

I think of Chad as our 14th classmate at White Lake! He was back and forth between Sioux Falls and W.Lake , it seemed. If Chad liked cheap beer that came from spending so much time in White Lake!
I hadn't seen Chad in a long time, and it is sad to catch up on him this way. I'm really glad he had a nice family, kids and wife, and community to go through life's struggles with!
When we were young I remember when he showed up to class after being run over by a herd of sheep, and that's when I learned about hemophilia. Not Good.
If I remember Chad once showed up in White Lake with nice Camaro...that was High School.
I really had a good time getting to know Bart again a few years ago, and need to touch base with the rest of the South Dakota folks. Take Care we are so sorry for your loss!!

It was a blessing and great privilege to know Chad. I was happy to see him in Forth Worth last month and sad to know that we will not be able to see each other again as we'd planned. Chad was a great asset and an inspiration and to all he touched in the bleeding disorders community. Donnie Akers, Hemophilia Federation of America, General Counsel

I worked with Chad selling cameras at Best Buy in Sioux Falls in the 80's. Chad was the best salesman, always telling customers that hey deserved the best! Chad I were both heartbroken at the same time, him from his 1st girlfriend. Shortly after that, Chad was promoted to a store in Dallas. I went with Chad's fun and loving family to visit him in Dallas. Quickly, I became bff with his sister, Camy and forever friends with Chad and the rest of his wonderful family. God saved the best of Chad's life for last. Although he was always highly successful in his career, Chad was never truly happy in his adult life until he marred his soul mate, Julie and they were blessed with two beautiful children. Chad was a class act, loved by everyone he met and he is leaving behind a beautiful legacy. My husband and I are praying for peace and love for the entire Fredericksen family. RIP Chad

I am heartbroken as I write this. I can’t believe you are gone. We had so many wonderful times together, many that I will never forget. You were a one of a kind and the most positive person I’ve ever known. You never let your illness get you down and you taught me so much about always making the best of every situation. I will never forget your smile and I am so thankful we were able to stay in touch throughout the years. You hold a special place in my heart as well as my entire family. It’s obvious how proud you were of your beautiful wife and children. You are now their guardian angel. I pray for God to wraps his arms around them during this difficult time. Rest In Peace Chad.

Jan, Larry, Camy, CJ & Bart,
