

Jeff Cariker, RPh., loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many passed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Monday, November 24, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children. Jeff was a twenty year resident of Coppell, TX. For the past four years Jeff fought a very courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. He was born Clarence Jefferson Cariker on August 21, 1943, in Port Arthur, TX, to Joe Cariker and Janette Ramsey Cariker. His childhood years were spent in Round Rock, TX, delivering the Austin newspaper, playing Little League baseball and high school football. He was a 1961 graduate of Round Rock High School and a 1966 graduate of the University of Texas School of Pharmacy. During his career in pharmacy of over forty four years, he worked in hospital, long-term care, and retail pharmacy in San Angelo, Victoria, Nacogdoches, Houston, and Dallas, TX. He retired in 2010 from Target Pharmacy, Lewisville, TX.
Jeff married Charlotte Walden Cariker on December 31, 1964. They celebrated with an early 50th wedding anniversary party at his bedside surrounded by family. Jeff was preceded in death by both of his parents, a brother, John Michael, and a nephew, James David Gold, of Madison, WI. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, his son Brent Cariker, daughter-in-law Dori Cariker, grandson Austin Cariker, granddaughter Cheyenne Swain, and grandson Austin Swain of Coppell. He is also survived by his daughter Charla Cariker Romo, son-in-law Tony Romo, granddaughter Madelyne Cariker, granddaughter Bailee Romo, and grandsons AJ Romo and Max Romo of Carrollton, TX. Other survivors include his stepmother Billie Sue Henna-Cariker of Round Rock, his sister, Linda Cariker Gold, and brother-in-law David Gold, of Round Rock, TX. He is also survived by his brother Joe Cariker and sister-in-law Marie Cariker of Georgetown, TX, nephew Mike Cariker and family of O’Fallon, IL, nephew Mark Gold and family of Round Rock and niece Christi Cariker Proctor and family of Lorena, TX.
A memorial service will be held on January 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Valley Ranch Baptist Church, 1501 E. Beltline Road, Coppell, TX. The family would like to thank his caregiver and the nurses from VNA of Texas Hospice for the loving care they gave Jeff during his last days.
