

Eleanor Brienza Tricoli of Coppell, Texas passed away peacefully in the early morning on December 24, 2020. A funeral service will be held for immediate family on January 6th, 2021 at 11:30 am at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell followed by burial at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
Eleanor is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Emanuel (Manny) P. Tricoli; sons Carl J. Tricoli and wife Tamara of Houston, Texas and John J. Tricoli and wife Audrey of Henderson, Nevada; daughter Marian T. Weix and husband Patrick of Coppell, Texas; grandchildren Morgan, Laura, Caroline, Jay, Beth, Tim, Derek, Natalie and Nathan; and several great-grandchildren. Known affectionately as “Aunt El” she loved her extended family of nieces and nephews.
Eleanor was born on August 31, 1923 in Brooklyn, NY to Giovanni and Angelina Brienza. After graduating from high school and attending secretarial school, she began her career as an Executive Secretary on Wall Street in New York and retired as a Church Secretary at St. John’s Catholic Church in North Richland Hills, Texas. On February 14, 1954 Eleanor married the love of her life, Manny, and they began their life together in Brooklyn, eventually moving to New Jersey, and then to Texas.
Eleanor has always made volunteering and helping others a big part of her life; she volunteered with Girl Scouts, at her children’s schools, at her church as a Stephen Minister and on multiple committees, and for the VNA delivering meals for the elderly with their Meals on Wheels program.
Eleanor had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Favorite trips include visiting Italy with St. John’s Church, England visiting her son Carl, Germany visiting her son John, and a cruise to Alaska, in addition to many other sites around the US. Eleanor was a fabulous cook providing wonderful Italian meals for family and friends. She discovered a talent for painting and enjoyed it as a hobby for several years, was a voracious reader, and loved theater both in New York and here in Dallas.
