Gloria Hernandez, born August 4th 1942, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of July 29th 2023. She is survived by her husband of 61 years José Antonio Hernandez; five sons, Nicholas and his wife Sherri, Antonio, Alex, Gustavo, Steve; five grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew and his wife Korrine, Marina and her partner Dustin, Christian, Victoria; five great grandchildren, Allaya, Landon, Adylenn, Adriana, Denver; two brothers, Arthur and Jessie; treasured family friend David Blacquiere who was essential in helping the family care for her; and many, many more loved ones. Gloria was born and raised in Oklahoma City by her parents Juanita and John Zamorano. She spent most of her life as a seamstress and working in department stores before retiring. She looked after her siblings, nieces, and nephews in addition to her own children and grandchildren all her life. When she wasn’t working, she was in the kitchen cooking incredible meals for family and friends. Gloria was the very definition of a mama bear. She loved fiercely and protected her family at all costs. Being more reserved with displays of affection, food was her love language. Showing affection by feeding others is a legacy her husband, children, and grandchildren carry. Gloria lived a hard and wonderful life. Her family, though in awe of her resilience, are grateful that she can finally rest.
