

Homer Alvin Freeman Jr. was born November 19, 1932 in Trent, TX to Homer Sr. & Opal Mae Freeman and passed away December 30, 2016 in Irving. Homer was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and served with Company B, 9th Ordinance Battalion. His battalion was an M.P. Division who, in Germany, guarded the top secret “Atomic Annie”. Following the conflict, Homer married the love of his life, whom he met on a blind date, Altie O’Briant in 1955. His best times in life were spent with his wife, children & grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father Homer Sr., mother Opal & sister & brother-in-law Phyllis & Travis Farmer. Homer is survived by his wife of 61 years, Altie Freeman; son, Gayland Freeman & wife Jeanette, daughter, Sharon Sawyer & fiancé James Henderson and son Michael Freeman; grandchildren: Carmelita & Jesse Workman, Colton Gilbreath & fiancé Karen, Joanna Gilbreath and Christopher Sawyer & fiancé Presley and great-grandchildren, Joscalyn Workman & J.J. Workman and many other friends and family. Visitation will be 6-8p.m. Monday, January 2, 2016 at the funeral home. Funeral service will be 10:00a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at Rolling Oaks Memorial Park, Coppell, TX followed by burial at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center. Casual attire welcome.
