Honey Madathil Cherian (47) was born on September 18, 1973, in Ranni, India. She was the middle child of Late Madathil Cherian Joseph and Annamma Cherian. She has an elder brother Reni and younger sister Broni.

She grew up in Ranni until the age of 14 and attended MS High School. Shen then moved to Yonkers, New York and attended Roosevelt High School and Westchester Community College. She grew up in New York until she moved to Texas in 1998.

She married Thomas Cherian (Jekxy Murikolipuzha) on August 8, 1992 in Kerala, India and shared 28 years together. She went on to give birth to 3 beautiful children Chinnu, Chitra (Anna) and Chekxy (Kannan).

Honey is a very loving person. She had the brightest and biggest smile that made everyone fall in love with her. Her laugh was contagious, and she had the best jokes. No matter what she was facing she was always happy. Honey was the brightness in a lot of people’s lives, and she treated everyone with pure intentions. She ALWAYS looked for the good in people. Her kids meant the world to her, and she went to any extent to make them feel safe, acknowledged and loved. Her parents gave her the perfect name: Honey. She was as sweet as honey and her voice was comforting, you always felt at ease when talking to her, regardless of what you both were talking about.

She loved to spend time with her children whether it be going shopping, watching movies, playing with the family pets, sitting at home doing nothing or nagging them (which was her favorite activity). She loved having at home spa days with her daughters where they did manicures & pedicures, face masks, and baked yummy desserts. She loved to listen to her son’s long conspiracy theories and PS4 conversations even though she had no idea what he would be talking about. She listened to everything her kids had to say and taught them to love, be kind, be patient, and the biggest of them all, to always remain strong. She and her husband loved to spend time outside in nature. They always enjoyed setting up vegetable plants and flower gardens (which she mainly directed and supervised) and having pets like fishes, birds, dogs and cats. She also enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and finding new antique furniture for the house with her husband. They enjoyed many memories together that will never be forgotten.

A lot of her most memorable memories are the ones she shared with her siblings and parents. Honey was a very outgoing child with a huge personality that Daddy and Mummy had the pleasure of experiencing. She spoke on the phone daily with her sister, brother, and mom. Her favorite pastime was to irritate Mummy. She would video call her mom and sister everyday while she drove to work, and they talked until she reached her job. Her sister and mom will miss that dearly.

She will be missed by all her family and friends especially her husband, children, mummy, sister, brother and nephews. We love you and will see you in paradise.

Dear Honey’s family,

I worked with Honey for several years at St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers, NY. Everything said in her obituary is true. I can never remember seeing Honey angry; she was always smiling. She brought out the good in people. Honey touched my life in a special way . I’m a better person for having known her, & I’m grateful to have had her as a friend. She will always hold a special place in my heart & I will never forget her. May God Bless Honey & all of you. Take comfort in knowing she’s at peace & watching over all of us.
Rest In Peace, Honey, my friend.
