

Howard Clive Brooks, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at his home in Coppell, TX surrounded by his family. Services for Mr. Brooks was held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11am in the chapel at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home with interment follow in Rolling Oaks Memorial Center.
Mr. Brooks led a life of service to his church, family and community. He was a faithful and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Mr. Brooks was born on July 11, 1928 to the late Alvie and Nora Brooks in Houston, TX. He was a 1948 graduate of Richmond High School. On June 26, 1948, he married the love of his life, Charleyne Garner. They moved to Tucson, AZ in 1959 until relocating to TX in 2007. He spent his career as an electrician, initially starting out as a high linesman for Houston Light and Power. He was ordained as a deacon on July 16, 1961 where he served in his church home in Tucson, AZ. His love for the Lord always shined bright. He was a member of the McArthur Blvd. Baptist Church in Irving. His many hobbies included; studying Texas History, smoking meat, and pruning fruit trees. He was an avid fisherman, collector, a member of the Texas Masonic Lodge, and life long volunteer. He dedicated his life to serving others.
Mr. Brooks leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Charleyne Brooks, sons Charlie and his wife Kathy and Tim and his wife Jan; grandchildren, AJ Brooks, Abby Brooks Callahan and her husband Sean, Jennifer Brooks Gamblin and her husband Erik, and Scott Brooks and his wife Marci. Also surviving him are his great grandchildren, Kate, Annie, Joshua, Abbie, Deacon and Brooks; sister Bebe Brandon and niece Nora Lou; sisters-in-laws Margaret Cox and Agnes Garner, nephews John Cox and his wife Alice and Irby Cox; great nieces and nephews, Amy, Nathan, Benjamin and Matthew and great great nieces and nephew Gavin, Harper and Poppy.
