

Jack Spence Thrasher passed away on September 2, 2026, at home in Coppell, TX. He was born on May 3, 1946, in Fort Worth, Texas, and grew up in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas, graduating from Kimball High School.
Jack (Spence, as he was known by family) was preceded in death by his son Spencer Glen Thrasher, sister Becky (Thrasher) Banks, father Henry Spencer Thrasher, Jr., mother Florence (Owens) Thrasher, and brothers-in-law John Park and Bobby Park.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Linda (Park) Thrasher, daughter Tracy Thrasher, daughter-in-law Jennifer Thrasher (Spencer's widow), sisters-in-law Jeanine Park and Georgia Park, nephews Mark Brown, Robby Banks, Michael Park, Greg Park, Craig Banks, and Darrell Park, and niece Sandol (Park) Brocato.
He proudly served four years of active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He went on to dedicate 38 years of his life serving his community as a member of the Dallas Fire Rescue Department, retiring in 2003 as Deputy Chief of Training.
Jack enjoyed traveling and boating, spending countless hours on Lake Lewisville. His dedication to his family, his service to others, and his years with the Dallas Fire Rescue Department will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Jack will forever be in the hearts of those who loved him. He requested that there be no service. The family will honor his wishes. His ashes will be scattered at a later time.
