

James Robert Hawarden, 65, of Haslet passed from this earth Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014. Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Restland Coppell Chapel. Visitation will be from Noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday prior to service.
James Robert "Jim" Hawarden was born in St. Barnabas Hospital in Newark, N.J., on Sept. 24, 1949. In 1953, Jim moved from Newark to the small resort town of Keansburg, N.J., remaining in the Keansburg/Middletown area to finish his primary and secondary education before getting a BS in accounting at Pace University. In 1973, while finishing his education, he joined Caltex Petroleum Corp in their New York City office, holding junior- level positions in accounting and finance. When Caltex moved to Irving in 1982, James and his family moved with them, and James continued to advance within the company's accounting and planning division. In 1993, James took a marketing manager position in Karachi, Pakistan, before moving to India in 1998 and then to Bangladesh in 1999 where he finished his career with Caltex. After retiring from Caltex as an executive, Jim returned to North Texas where he held financial management positions in various companies, finally retiring from Andrews Transport of Haltom City as CFO. In 2013, after retiring for good, he spent quality time with the most important people in his life. Jim, sometimes called "Big Jim," was larger than life, always ready with a joke, and ever-ready to give support and love to his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Eleanor Hanson; his father, John Cyril Hawarden; his stepfather, Terrence Hanson; and his brother, Ronald Irving Hawarden. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 44 years, Irene, who helped him with all of life's important matters; his sons, James and Thomas and their wives, Vicki and Diana; as well as the lights of his life - his grandchildren - Vicky Almeida, Jerry Almeida, Annabelle Hawarden, Ariana Hawarden, Sofia Hawarden, Ryan Lambeth and was awaiting his seventh grandchild; brothers, John Hawarden and wife, Florence, Gary Hawarden and wife, Dorothy; sister, Nancy Arellano and husband, Antonio.
