James & Jannette Provost

James Tilden Provost and Jannette Ann Caillier Provost of Dallas, Texas, passed away at the ages of 89 and 83. James passed away on September 16, 2026, and Jannette passed away on June 13, 2025.

James was born on December 16, 1936, in Port Arthur, Texas. Jannette was born on January 4, 1942, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. Though their lives began in different places, the strong values of family, faith, and community instilled in them during their early years became the foundation for the life they would build together.

James devoted his professional life to accounting, earning the respect of those who knew him through a long and dedicated career. Jannette built a fulfilling career in real estate. Together, they shared a lifelong love of golf and many happy days spent on the course.

They also treasured their time at their ranch in Pipe Creek, Texas, where they enjoyed rodeos in Bandera, trail rides, and the simple pleasures of country life. But above all, family was the center of their world. Their greatest joy was raising their children, watching their family grow, and creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

James and Jannette are survived by their children: Jeannen Provost of Dallas, Texas; Trina Provost Starr and her husband, Jeff Starr, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; and Carla East of Cedar Park, Texas. They also leave behind three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many loving relatives and friends.

They were preceded in death by their daughter, Tina Provost Landes; their parents, Ed and Iola Provost and Bernadine and Odiska Bijeaux Caillier; and their siblings, Paul Provost Sr., Gabriel Caillier, Louise Caillier Smith, Frances Caillier, and Annette Caillier East.

A service celebrating their lives will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 3900 Twin City Hwy, Groves, TX 77619. The service will be held inside the Chapel of Love Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the SPCA, in their memory.
