

Johnny J E Thompson of Coppell, Texas, age 74; was born in Lewisville, TX and passed away on Wednesday February 5, 2025. Johnny Joe Evans Thompson was born on June 14, 1950 in Denton, TX to Jewel and JE Thompson. He attended Carrollton and Coppell schools growing up. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran and was awarded with many medals during his 3 years of service, in the Army- National Defense Medal, 3 O/S Bars, Vietnam Service Medals with 3 Bronze Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device, Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal (1st award), Expert Badge M-14 Rifle; and 2 purple heart as well. He loved to tell his many, many army stories to all who would listen. He spent most of each year in his second home, Whale Pass, Alaska. He loved to fish and hunt, and really enjoyed taking his friends, children, and many grandchildren along on his many adventures. He was passionate about his airplanes and planes in general, as well as tinkering and fixing everything under the sun. He was the most loving and helpful person, and anyone who knew him would tell you that; but man did he love to argue.
He is survived by 6 children Mickie Thompson and husband Jeremy Thompson of Kaufman, Carl Thompson of Coppell, Wayne Box of Albany, Dusty Thompson of Aubrey, Jessica McShan of Coppell, and David Karr of Lake Worth; his right hand man John Embrey of Coppell; 15 grandchildren, Justin Little of Oklahoma, Carlee Fincher and Husband Jacobi Fincher of Palmer, Dustin Thompson and Wife Sydney Thompson of Kaufman, Savannah Thompson of Waxahachie, Colton Box and Wife Lauren Box of California, Joshua Marraccini of Oklahoma, Clayton Cargal of Coppell, Gracie Thompson of Huntsville, Aspen Box of Cisco, Jeracho Box of Cisco, Kaylie McShan of Coppell, Emma Thompson of Rice, Lane Karr of Lake Worth, and Izabellah Quirino of Coppell; 5 great grandchildren, Blakely, Maggie and Cobi Fincher, Rylan Thompson, Callen Box and two more on the way; 3 siblings Sister Margaret Vigil and Husband Michael of Telephone, TX, Sister Myra Worsham of Lorena, TX, and Brother Jack Thompson of Grand Saline, TX and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by Mother Jewel Beatrice Brown Thompson and Father JE Thompson, Sister Martha Marion, Brother James Thompson, Nephew Gary Worsham and Grandson Kolt Martin.
