

He was born February 14, 1937, in Memphis, Tennessee.
After his father Allen Parnell died from a rare blood disorder when Kyle was only three years old, Kyle and his mother, Jeannette Haynes Parnell, moved to Anson, Texas, where Kyle’s grandparents helped take care of him while his mother went to college. Then when his mother remarried, the family moved with Kyle to Dallas.
Kyle attended North Dallas High School and graduated from Greenhill High school.
In 1955 Kyle began his freshman year in college in the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. Upon completion of his senior year of college in 1961, he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Arts degree with a double major in Math and English from the University of Texas.
His career included working as a business systems analyst/programmer from 1966 to 2001. In 1973 Kyle worked for Bell Helicopter in Iran, providing computer software support to the Shah’s fleet of helicopters for two and one-half years. Upon leaving Iran, Kyle took his wife and four children on a three month long tour of Europe before coming back to their Highland Park home in Dallas. Kyle eventually returned for another stint of overseas computer programming work for Aramco in Saudi Arabia from 1983 to 1984.
After returning from Saudi Arabia Kyle started attending Round Grove United Church of Christ in Lewisville,Texas, where he met then later married his second wife Francey. Kyle and Francey enjoyed forty years of happy marriage together, working together in their real estate investment business for over twenty years and also traveling to spend many enjoyable summers in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Kyle enjoyed golf, tennis and playing bocce ball. Most of all he enjoyed time with family.
Kyle is survived by his wife, Francey Fitch Parnell of Coppell, Texas, and by his daughters Lisa Parnell of Austin Texas; Heather (Lyt) Capell of Cumming, Georgia; Kyla (Chris) Jacobs of Austin; and one son, Jack Parnell of Lewisville, Texas; and stepdaughters Wendy Rich of Dallas and Allison (Chris) McDade of Fredericksburg, Texas.
Grandchildren of the couple are Abigail and Jacqueline Parnell, Jack and Alex Capell, Charlotte and Sophie Jacobs; Emily, Ashley and Courtney Rich; and Paige, Caroline and Leah McDade.
Kyle is also survived by his sister Elaine Thomas Nelson of Birmingham Alabama, plus several cousins.
A Christian memorial service is planned February 14, 2026 at 1:30 at a chapel in Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell.
The family respectfully asks for donations to American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
