Manuel was born on December 3, 1962, in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Servando Hernandez Pumarejo and Minerva Trevino de Hernandez. He attended Saint Joseph Academy before continuing his education at Southern Methodist University (SMU).
In his early years, Manuel owned and operated MHT Jet Ski Rentals in South Padre Island, Texas, from 1987 to 1991. He also spent many years helping his father on the family ranch in Matamoros, Mexico, where he developed a deep appreciation for family, hard work, and tradition.
In 2001, Manuel and his family relocated to the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where he pursued his entrepreneurial dream by establishing MC Snowcones. Through his dedication and friendly spirit, he successfully owned and operated locations in Irving, Arlington, and Hurst, Texas, becoming a familiar face in the communities he proudly served.
Manuel enjoyed gathering with family and friends around a barbecue, savoring a perfectly cooked steak accompanied by a fine red wine. He found joy in life's simple pleasures, but nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with those he loved.
Above all else, Manuel was an extraordinary husband, father, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law. His greatest pride and purpose in life were his beloved wife, his children, and their cherished dog, Moni. His unwavering love, strength, generosity, and sense of humor touched the lives of everyone who knew him. His memory and legacy will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends.
Manuel is survived by his loving wife, Lupita Hernandez; his children, Manuel Eduardo Hernandez and Carolina Hernandez; his mother, Minerva Trevino de Hernandez; his sisters, Lourdes Hernandez and Rosario Hernandez de Patino (Juan Fernando); his brother, Francisco Hernandez (Debbie); his sister, Lilia Weimorts (Joe); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Servando Hernandez Pumarejo.
Though he will be deeply missed, Manuel's love, kindness, and enduring example will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
