

Maria Olivia Castro, 74, of Coppell, Texas, passed away on April 21, 2026. Born in Dallas, Texas on February 6, 1952, Maria was the daughter of Charles & Mary Munoz. From her earliest years, she carried herself with a steady devotion to family and a kind-hearted regard for others that would remain a defining presence throughout her life.
Maria graduated from high school and went on to earn an associate's degree, reflecting a quiet determination and commitment to building a life of purpose and service.
Maria worked in the medical field and later retired, having earned certifications as a histology technologist. In a profession that calls for care, precision, and patience, she was cherished for the steadfast way she applied herself and for the warmth she brought to those around her.
Maria was a devoted member of the USA Mother's Federation in the Schoenstatt Movement, where her faithful involvement reflected the beloved role she held in the lives and communities she touched.
Her favorite pastime was spending time with her grandchildren, and it was in those moments—shared time, attentive presence, and enduring love—that so many will remember how deeply she was cherished.
Maria is survived by her husband, Jesse L. Castro; two children, Christopher L. Castro and Crystal M. Castro (predeceased); and her grandchildren, Jocelyn Castro, Alexander Castro, Adrian Castro, Angelica Castro, and Dominic Castro. She is also survived by her brother, Charles A. Munoz; nieces, Lisa Castro, Joyce Barker, and Donna Erwin; nephews, Vincent Castro and Donald Barker; aunts, Eva Garcia, and many more aunts; as well as various cousins.
Maria was preceded in death by Crystal M. Castro, Charles & Mary Munoz, and Felix M. Munoz.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Ann Parish, 180 Samuel Blvd, Coppell, TX 75019, on May 7, 2026, at 2:00 pm.
