Mark Joseph Luenser, 58, of Coppell Texas died Tuesday, July 13th 2021. Born June 5th 1963 in Joliet IL, he was the son of the late Kurt Karl and Monica (Long) Luenser. He was a graduate of University of North Texas (UNT) with a degree in Business/Marketing, starting his career at The Dallas Zoo as a director handling food service and the retail gift shop. Most recently he was employed by UNT as a Retail Dining Manager.
In 1996, Mark married the love of his life Jeannine Penkilo. They have three loving sons. Most important to Mark was his family and church. One of Mark’s special gifts and passions was his work with his church at St. Ann Catholic Parish. He was involved with the Community Carnival and Usher team. Mark’s dedication to his family can be seen through his major involvement with his boys’ sports. He coached YMCA teams of basketball, baseball and soccer. Go Thunderbirds!!! His hobbies included gardening, gaming, and being Mr Fix-it. The people that knew him best, understood his goofy sense of humor and fun nature. Family vacations often included attending major league baseball games and amusement parks. Mark will be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother and friend. He was most proud of his three sons and the men they have become, following his legacy.
Mark is survived by his wife of 25 years Jeannine Penkilo Luenser: children, Kenneth, Steven and Matthew; sisters Sue (Jim), Mary (Tom), Laura (Steve), brothers Donnie (Sharon), Brian (Debbie); and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 20th 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Rolling Oaks Funeral Home (400 Freeport Pkwy, Coppell, TX 75019). A rosary will be held on Tuesday, July 20th 2021 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 21st at 2pm at St Ann Catholic Parish. A private family burial will follow the mass.
