

Mary Elizabeth Hintz (Hohensee) passed away peacefully on Monday morning, September 8, 2025 at the age of 97. Born on June 18, 1928, Mary was the daughter of the late Coole G. Hohensee and Edna V. Zentner-Hohensee. She was married to her loving husband, Gilbert W. Hintz, on April 10, 1950 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Mary Hintz-Boisvert of Carrollton, Texas; son Brian and wife Hannah of Corinth, Texas; son Jay Hintz of San Antonio, Texas; son Michael Hintz and wife Irma of San Antonio, Texas. Grandchildren: Benjamin, Mickenzie, Tiffany, Richard, and Geoffrey. Great Grandchildren: Colbee and Cash Patrick.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Colonel Ret. Gilbert W. Hintz, parents Coole and Edna Hohensee, twin sister Marcia Hohensee-Jicha, brother George Hohensee, and grandson, Tyler Hintz.
After graduating from Fon du Lac High School, Mary served in the American National Red Cross (Philippines, Norman, Oklahoma, San Antonio, Texas), The Catholic School of Religion at Clark Air Force Base, and the OB-GYN Clinic of San Antonio. Mary had a love for fashion and for helping other women find their sense of style through her successful work at Caren Charles.
Mary will also be remembered for her strong faith, her love for her family, square dancing, bowling, and playing Bridge.
A mass celebrating Mary’s life will be held at St. Philips Apostle Catholic Church in Flower Mound, Texas on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. with Msgr. Francis officiating. A graveside service will follow on September 18, 2025 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
