Maryann Dwyer, a two year Coppell resident, died on October 3rd, 2018 at the age of 75. Born in 1943 to John L and Alice Brenner, Maryann grew up in Hull, Massachusetts. She was a beloved wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. Maryann was a graduate of Fitchburg State Teachers College, teaching for a short time before marrying her high school sweetheart. Together they had many adventures, living in six states during their forty-seven year marriage.
Everywhere they lived, Maryann made friends. She told her children that every person came into her life for a reason - that meeting each other changed each person’s journey.
Maryann loved to cook and bake, collecting recipes and cookbooks in every corner of her house. She loved children: her own, as well as many others, over the years. When asked the most important thing that she wanted to tell her grandchildren, she said, “I want them to know that they were loved.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Dwyer. She is survived by daughter Michelle Cohen (Steve); son Shawn Dwyer (Emily); sisters Joy Mehrl (Steve) and Joan Tierney; three wonderful grandchildren, and her beloved Shih tzus, Max, Jake and Buttons.
A special thank you to the staff at River Oaks in Coppell, and the team from CarePlus hospice, for providing Maryann with the best possible care.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Maryann’s name to the National MS Society (nmss.org).
“If we only needed love to keep you here, you would have lived forever.”
