He pursued his education at Fatima College University of Kerala where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree. After graduation, he started working at Ludhiana Medical College as an Accountant. He was soon introduced to and married his wife Aleyamma on January 21, 1965.
Shortly after marriage they moved to New Delhi where he started working at the University of Delhi as an accountant. They soon welcomed their two children, Gigi and Aby.
In search of a better life for his family, he and his wife had the opportunity to move and immigrated to the United States in 1972. Aleyamma arrived first and he followed a few months later. They settled in Dallas, Texas where he began working as an accountant at Manor Baking Company. The following year, in 1973, their children joined them, and the family began a new chapter together in their new home. Their move also opened the door for many other relatives - nephews, nieces and members of Aleyamma’s family – to begin new lives in the U.S.
As the God fearing person, he had grown up to be, he and his wife immediately became involved in church activities in various American churches in Dallas. Several years later a MarThoma Church was formed in Dallas, and he played a key role in the formation of the church in 1976. He remained a dedicated member, contributing to many church organizations and activities. He held key membership roles in the church over various years, such Vice-President, Secretary, Trustee and Auditor. Outside of church, he enjoyed gardening, home projects, lifelong learning and spending time with family and friends.
He embodied a spirit of service, always ready to lend a hand. He and his wife cooked for others, volunteered for church projects and made it a point to always visit church members, family and friends. His generosity extended to his homeland as well. He and his wife helped build homes for the homeless in Kerala and contributed to the construction of The Cumbummettu MarThoma Church.
