Paul was born on the wintery evening of March 1, 2008 in New York City. He lived in the New York area till he was four years old and moved to Dallas in 2012. He lived with his mom and dad in the Las Colinas section of Irving, where he was a source of pure joy to his parents and everyone who interacted with him! He attended Freeman Elementary and was in grade 4 of the Communications class because of his special needs. Although Paul was minimally verbal, his eyes and smiles spoke more than any words could. He will forever live in his parents’ memory who consider themselves incredibly lucky for the time they got with Paul!

I was so lucky to meet Paul his first year at Freeman Elementary as one of his teachers. His big smile would light up a room the minute he walked in. Paul, your happy, joyful personality will live on with me forever, and leave a lasting imprint of compassion and joy on my soul that will live in my heart forever. I miss you dearly sweet boy!

I was privileged enough to attend Friday's ceremony and see such beautiful family photographs and hear funny stories that will keep Paul's memory close to my heart. As a teacher at Freeman, I am also a mother of two children and could feel the support and love from family and friends on Friday evening. Please know that you are our in our hearts and if you need any support or just comfort or company please know that we are here. We are so blessed to have been able to share in your joy and Paul's smiles at school. I will be praying for you daily. I was so touched to be a witness and hear the love from family members that shared stories on Friday evening. Thank you and God bless you,

I am one of the Adapted PE teachers and Special Olympics coordinators for CFB ISD. I watched Paul laugh and have fun during Special Olympics. His laugh and smile was so infectious that if you were around Paul you laughed along with him. The last time I actually saw Paul he was swimming with Leslie Halencak. He started out not so thrilled to be in the water but by Friday all I saw was that big smile of his. Paul will definitely be missed but never forgotten. I pray the family finds strength and understanding as Paul stands beside God's loving hands.

Sending prayers,

For the last 4 Years Paul was a happiness in the Cry Room of our church. Each Sunday Paul brought a peaceful smile and sweetness of hope to people around him. His smile, always resonated and radiated along with him. It was a joy watching him growing .We will be missing not only Paul but the peace and sweetness he brought each Sunday to our church. Our thoughts and prayers are always with Paul's exemplary parents who are a blessing and a model to other parents like me, Our love and tears with you. When Paul returns to his eternal nest may the good lord Jesus Christ bless his parents with peace. Paul will be living in our hearts for ever.

I am honored to have worked with Paul as his Adapted PE teacher and Special Olympics coach during his time in CFB! Your sweet boy will forever hold a special place in my heart! I am proud to have witnessed the gains Paul made during the 4th grade swim program and so thankful that he trusted me to assist him in the water! He went from being reluctant to enter the water to floating on his back before the week was over. What an accomplishment! I am also grateful to have watched his successful accomplishments in Special Olympics! Paul may not have been able to express himself verbally but his bright smile and the glimmer in his eyes said it all! Thank you for the opportunity to share in Paul’s life! I will miss him dearly! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.

Sincerely,
Leslie Halencak

Words seem inadequate to express our deep sorrow for the loss of beloved Paul. May his soul rest in complete peace. Our thoughts and heartfelt prayers are with you.

Thank you for each picture and story you have shared with us about your precious little boy. His beautiful face and bright smile always brightened every shot! We especially remember all the detailed care you took to celebrate his 10th birthday and told us how very happy he was to receive his special cake at school. You have been outstanding parents to this sweet little boy. May loving memories of Paul surround you and give you strength in the days ahead. We love you and stand with you in this difficult season.

I was Paul's occupational therapist who had the joy of working with him for the past three years while at Freeman Elementary. It has been a pleasure working with Paul and seeing him grow. I will always remember his sweet infectious smile and his laugh. Paul truly enjoyed school and participating in his classroom with staff who worked with him. It was always special to see Paul so happy and to show his excitement when he clapped his hands and said "yay" when he achieved something. I will not forget the day I was in the classroom for Paul's "10th birthday" and how he enjoyed eating his birthday cake. He was so happy! As Dr. Seuss said, "Sometimes you will never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." I will cherish the moments I spent with Paul and will pray for comfort and courage for his family to face the days ahead during this difficult time.

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Paul this year as his Speech Therapist at school. Although Paul spoke few words, his communication through smiles and laughs were clearly understood! Paul had such a contagious smile, and zest for life. I am so glad I had the opportunity to make memories with Paul that I will cherish forever.
