Peter is survived by his wife Anna, his three sons Otto, Peter, and Endre, and his brother Róbert. Peter was born in Miskolc, Hungary on October 22, 1957, and grew up in nearby Tiszalúc until attending college. The beloved father and husband had earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at St. Petersburg Technical University in Engineering and Semiconductor Physics. Peter dearly loved his family, cooking, novels, traveling, poker, science fiction, hockey, soccer, tennis, his cats, skiing, axe throwing, saunas, music, movies, comedy, arts, and was deeply passionate about physics and engineering. His team pioneered the first ion implanter in Hungary for the Hungarian Central Institute of Physics in the 1980s and he has been described by former colleagues as a “genius” in planning, building, implementing, and testing ion-implant machineries and technologies. Peter’s exceptional work would take him across the globe: first to Singapore from 1991-1995, then to Limerick, Ireland in 1995, and finally settling in the United States in 1997. He will be deeply missed and remembered for his contagious smile, humor, good spirit, positivity and passionate work ethic, leaving a lasting impact in the hearts of many across our world.
There will be a memorial for Peter on May 14th at 11:00 AM at Rolling Oaks Funeral Home in Coppell, TX. He is expected to be put to eternal rest in his hometown of Tiszalúc in July.
