Beloved wife, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt and friend, Rachael Marie Doak of Coppell, TX, age 43, went home to be with Jesus on November 20, 2025, after a courageous nine years of valiantly fighting the catastrophic impact of pancreatic cancer treatment. Born in 1982, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Donald James Doak and Linda Harris Doak.
Rachael was a graduate of Grapevine High School. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science Degree from Tarrant County Community College, receiving the Army Award for Nursing Excellence and Leadership. After receiving her RN license, Rachael completed a Nurse Residency program in Trauma Medical/Surgical Care at Baylor Medical Center Dallas and a Nurse Residency in Emergency Medicine at Parkland Hospital. She worked for many years at the Parkland Emergency Room in Dallas and served as the lead for her team. She had a passion for emergency medicine and for serving underserved and indigent populations. Rachael travelled to Ecuador with Timmy’s Global Health several times, to provide care in areas where primary medical care is not available. Rachael also had a heart for health care workers struggling with mental health and substance use issues and believed strongly they should be supported in ways that facilitated rehabilitation and recovery of their licenses and professional privileges. To that end, she served as Advisor to the Texas Peer Support Program for nurses, sometimes making calls to meetings from her hospital bed.
Rachael was kind, smart, witty, generous, hardworking, and persevering. She enjoyed making life a celebration for her family and friends. She loved to laugh and had an infectious giggle. She enjoyed music, theater, travel and helping people. She loved children and animals, and they were drawn to her. She believed in living and loving courageously and she did both with intentionality.
Rachael married Neal Silverwise on February 6, 2016 and they made their home in Coppell, TX. Home with family was her favorite place to be. She loved being a mother and Ava Grace was the great joy of her life.
She is survived by her spouse, Neal Silverwise; daughter Ava Grace Silverwise; mother, Linda Doak; Grandmother Margaret Harris; brother Jason Doak, his wife Jennifer and their children, Sebastian, Ethan, Akira and McKenzie; mother and father in law, John and Monya Silverwise; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; special friends Matt and Michelle Wood and their daughters Bella, Cece and Vivian; her beloved cats Tommy and Milo.
Rachael was preceded in death by her daughter, Amelia Joy Silverwise; Father Donald Doak, Sister Dawn Renae Doak; Grandparents William and Alice Doak and Grandfather William Harris.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date, to be determined by the family.
