Amma was born on June 16 , 1936 in Kurianoor, Kerala, India to Easow Koshy and Mariamma Esaow. She is survived by her brothers Joy and Shaji, sister Kunjumol, son Jaymon, daughter Jiny, daughter in-law Bijina , and grandchildren Chris, Julia, Crystal, and Reuben.
Amma was raised in Kuzhikala as the eldest of 6 children. She graduated high school at CMS High School in 1955. She then went to nursing school at Thiruvilla Medical Mission and graduated in 1956. In 1962, she took a position as a staff nurse in Dhanbad. She met her husband, Johnykutty of Punnakud in 1965. After she moved to Bhilai in 1983 after taking an early voluntary retirement from her government job as a staff nurse to stay home and raise her kids.
In 2004, Amma moved to the United States to help her daughter. She became an active member of the Marthoma Church of Dallas Farmers Branch where she was part of many prayer meetings: Mission India, Parish Mission, Sevika Sangam, Senior Citizen, International Prayer Line, Frisco Prayer Group. In 2008 when her husband Johnykutty became sick, she took care of him until he was called to glory in 2018.
Everyone who knew Amma would say she lived a life led by the Lord and was a blessing to all even in the last years of her life. She lived with conviction and heart of gratitude. While we are sad, that she is no longer here with us on Earth. We know she is celebrating with her Savior in Heaven, whom she desired to always meet.
