Ronald was born and raised in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, the second of four sons of Roger Presley and Lois Vaughan Presley. When not attending school, Ronald worked alongside his brothers in their parents' general store in Fort Sumner. In his late teens he moved along with his family to the Dallas/ Fort Worth area, where he graduated from Arlington High School.
After proudly serving his country in the United States Army, Ronald returned home to the DFW area. He met his future wife Anna at the Statler Hotel diner in 1965 when they were both working in downtown Dallas. Ronald and Anna were married in 1967 and have two daughters.
In the late 1960s Ronald began his first career in the banking/finance industry. He worked for multiple financial institutions including the First National Bank of Grand Prairie, the First National Bank of Lewisville, and the Dallas Times Herald employees credit union.
In the mid 1980s Ronald switched careers to become a long haul truck driver for Cedar Rapids Steel Transit (CRST), Ryder, and Andersen Windows. His distinguished 20+ year career in transportation, including years as a driver-trainer for CRST, earned him numerous safety awards for accumulating just under 2.5 million over the road miles without any moving violations.
Ronald enjoyed his retirement at home with Anna, taking vacations to his beloved Cabo San Lucas, and telling stories of his life's adventures.
He passed away peacefully at home on December 23rd after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, his elder brother Nathan Presley, his younger brother Jerry Presley, and his nephews Walter Presley and Samuel Presley.
