Shirley began her elementary education in Coppell, Texas but completed her secondary schooling in Lewisville, Texas. She spent about 18 years of her life in Dallas before completing the last half of her life in Houston. Her educational path included certifications in Radiology, Computerized Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and was completed with a Master of Business Administration. Her career evolved from direct patient care to management in hospital administration at Texas Children’s Hospital in the world renowned Texas Medical Center located in Houston. It was clear that Shirley was always determined to reach her goals in life, no matter how much time she had to devote to its achievement.
Shirley began her relationship with the Lord at a young age, and took her faith very seriously. Shirley stood strong in knowing that she was ready for Christ’s return at any moment.
Shirley was a social butterfly who managed to balance her work and social life while also devoting herself to physical health and well-being. For anyone who knew Shirley, they knew all it took was one smile from her to light up a room. It would only take seconds from then for her to fill the same room with laughter. Her happiness was contagious, her outlook was always positive, and she touched so many lives during her short time here on this Earth.
Shirley is survived by her parents Cherian M. Cherian and Lizzi Cherian, her siblings Sheba George and Susan Thomas, their spouses Johnsly George and Ashley Thomas respectively, as well as her nephews Aiden and Andrew Thomas.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions in memory of Shirley may be directed to Texas Children's Hospital, Radiology Education Fund, 1919 South Braeswood Blvd., Suite 5214, Houston, TX, 77030, or online at http://waystogive.texaschildrens.org/shirleycherian.
Shirley will be greatly missed, but there is comfort in knowing she is with our Lord.
