Simmy Sebastian, a loving wife, caring mother, amazing daughter, wonderful sister, and a great friend passed away on January 26, 2022, in Plano, Texas. Simmy was born on June 7, 1983, in India and graduated from College of Engineering, Trivandrum in 2005. She worked in the IT field for companies including CTS, State Farm Insurance, Illinois State University, and most recently for USAA.
Simmy found the love of her life when she met Mathew at college. Together, they have two beautiful daughters: Lia and Jia, who were the center of her world. She enjoyed long drives with the family and motorcycle rides with her husband. She was a guiding light and an inspiration to her younger siblings, Soumya and Sanju. She shared a strong bond with her mother and cherished their long conversations.
Simmy loved a good laugh and always sported a contagious smile. Simmy appreciated good food, loved to cook and entertain guests. She often spent time perfecting her family’s favorite recipes. Simmy was sharp and smart and was often the first to solve a puzzle amongst friends. She was passionate about gardening and enjoyed growing her vegetables. She enjoyed making amazing Halloween costumes for her daughters. The mother and daughters loved to spend time together sewing and baking.
Simmy was a staunch optimist who could make the best out of any situation in life, all the while donning an unwavering smile. All of us who know her can agree that she could brew the best lemonade out of any lemons that life ever threw. Her optimism, strength, and positive attitude will forever remain as an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She believed in taking it one day at a time and living it to the fullest while enjoying the simple things in life. Friends and family remember Simmy for her strength and resilience, compassion and kindness, wit and wisdom.
Simmy was preceded in death by her father Sebastian Jose. She is survived by Mathew Jacob (husband), Lia Mathew, Jia Mathew (daughters), Marykutty Sebastian (mother), Soumya Sebastian (sister) and Sanju Sebastian (brother).
