Taylor Maxwell Johnson, 40, passed away on February 19, 2026, from an unexpected medical event.
Born on September 23, 1985, in Dallas, Texas, Taylor attended Pershing Elementary School. He moved to Coppell in 1998 and graduated from Coppell High School in 2004. Taylor enjoyed the outdoors and was proud of earning the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, where he was a member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.
Taylor was clever, witty, and naturally funny, with a sharp mind and an artistic spirit. He saw the world from a unique perspective and walked confidently to the beat of his own drum. He was a caring and loyal friend, a true soulmate to many, he never met a stranger.
He found deep happiness in his loving relationship with his longtime partner, Erin Ashford, and their dog, Teddy. Together they shared a love of travel, outdoor adventures, and life’s simple pleasures.
In 2010, Taylor joined the family business, JPS Graphics, where he built a successful wide-format graphics segment and later became a member of the ownership group.
Taylor was a devoted plant enthusiast — especially fond of his Aloe Vera plants — an avid fly fisherman, and an appreciator of sharp humor, particularly Curb Your Enthusiasm. He found beauty in nature, satisfaction in growth, and joy in laughter.
Taylor is survived by his parents, Bob and Pam Johnson of Coppell; his beloved partner, Erin Ashford of Dallas; his grandparents, Bob and Betty Johnson of Dallas; his siblings, Hunter Johnson (Tiffany), Allison Newton (Bob), Jacqueline Meier (Chris), and Dorian Johnson. He was “Uncle Tay-Tay” to nine beloved nieces and nephews — Avery, Lillie, Colton, Ben, Savannah, Robby, Jake, Connor, and Eli. He deeply cherished his many relatives, co-workers and lifelong friends from elementary school through his years at Coppell High School, and many new friendships he formed later in life.
Though his time with us was far too short, the laughter, perspective, and lightness Taylor brought into the lives of others will endure.
