Thomas Mathias Garding

Tom was born in Chicago, IL on April 7, 1942. He was a proud engineering graduate of Purdue University. His specialty was heating/cooling resulting in the creation of the Furnace Miser system and programmable thermostats. He was an avid fisherman, worldwide traveler, and card enthusiast. Tom was essential in the planning and procedures initiating the building of the Coppell Senior Center where he was proud to be a former president of the board of directors.

He was the only son of Mathias T. Garding and L. Louise (Meyers) of Chicago. He was the godfather and best brother to his youngest sister, Carol. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Susan (Blennerhassett), and sister Mary Lou Hund. He will be deeply missed by his children, Michael, daughter Sheryl, and son in law, Jeremy Woods.

Services planned by Rolling Oaks Memorial Center, Coppell, TX on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from noon-3:00pm.

Burial will be private.
