Vera DeBruler, age 91, peacefully passed away and took her place in heaven on June 16, 2022 at her residence in Plano, Texas. Vera was born on March 17, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a retired teacher who started her career in Hammond, Indiana and spent the remaining years of her profession in Scottsdale, Arizona where she retired. Her teaching specialties were in elementary and special education and special education teaching the blind. Vera was very active in the Church of the Nazarene throughout her life and touched many lives in her years teaching and leading groups in the church. After retiring from teaching, Vera had a strong interest in the stock market and went on to obtain her securities license and began trading stocks, bonds and other securities. She also loved to see and tour new places and spent most of her retired years traveling to a number of different places across the world.
Vera is survived by her sister Nora Arlene Latham, her sister-in-law Joan DeBruler, seven nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Amos Guy DeBruler and Sarah Elizabeth DeBruler and her brother, Hubert DeBruler.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 10:30 am at the Rolling Oaks Funeral Home located at 400 Freeport Parkway, Coppell, Texas, 75019. A service will also be held on Monday, June 27, 2022 at 10:00 am at Chapel Lawn and Memorial Gardens in Crown Point, Indiana.
