

Allen was born February 16, 1953 in Amherst, Ohio to Orval Latham and Laverne (Votaw) Latham. Shortly after his birth the family moved to Texas.
In 1972 he joined the United States Army, he served our Country until October 28, 1988. While serving he received the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, the Good Conduct Medal with Bronze, five loops, The National Defense Service Medal, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral three, the Army Service Ribbon the Overseas Service Ribbon with Numeral one and the Expert Badge for both Rifle and Pistol.
Allen has been employed by Wal-Mart since 1991 and was currently Asset Protection Coordinator at the Copperas Cove Wal-Mart.
He had a desire to serve the Lord by ministering to people. He enjoyed worshiping the Lord and displayed his love for the Lord in his daily walk while he was with us. He also enjoyed working with wood, fishing, reading, building camp fires and most of all spending time with his family most of all his grandchildren.
Allen is survived by his wife of thirty seven years, Patricia Latham of Copperas Cove; a son, Chad Latham of Bedford; a honorary son, Stanley Struthers of Copperas Cove; a daughter, Kimberly Latham and her husband James Hart of Temple; his parents, Orval and Laverne Latham of Cisco; three grandchildren, Emily Latham, Kelsey Birdwell and Elizabeth Birdwell; two sisters, Terry Williams and her husband James of Tyler and Renee Cheatham of Longview and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Latham family will receive guests for a time of visitation from six o’clock in the evening until eight o’clock in the evening on Sunday, December nineteenth two thousand and ten at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove. Funeral services will be eleven o’clock in the morning Monday, December twentieth two thousand and ten at the Christian House of Prayer in Killeen, 3300 South Stan Schlueter Loop. Interment services will follow in the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen with military honors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Terry McGrath, Steve Rhodes, Kerry Cartwright, Robert Hart, Billy Ray and Wyle McDougal.
