

Barbara Ann Camp Gividen, a devoted and kind-hearted soul, passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 15, 1940, in McKinney, Texas, Barbara was raised in Frisco, Texas. She graduated from high school in Hawaii in 1969, marking the beginning of a life characterized by hard work and selflessness.
Barbara was a hard worker who operated the Mars Hamm Radio Station out of Hawaii, providing a crucial link for troops worldwide. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and operate Barb's Professional Poodle Grooming for many years. Later, she transitioned to working as an insurance agent for the family business, Camp Insurance.
Barbara was married to Floyd R. Camp for 28 years. Following his passing, she married George Gividen, with whom she shared 12 years until his death in 1998. In December of 1999, she met Garney Bray, and they spent 25 wonderful years together. Barbara was a devoted mother to four children: Rocky Camp, Penny Boyce, Shawn Camp, and Samantha Fischer. She also lovingly cared for three foster children, Terry and Rickey Myers and Jimmy Downing, and cherished several stepchildren, including Debbie Gividen.
Barbara's personal interests included traveling to Hawaii, buying jewelry, collecting guns, and enjoying social gatherings at Lil' Tex. Her thoughtful and wise nature was evident in her deep involvement in the community. She was a lifetime member of the Copperas Cove Noon Exchange Club and held a seat on the Copperas Cove City Cemetery Board. Her generous spirit was instrumental in establishing Metroplex/Advent Hospital in Killeen, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her father Levi Penland, mother Mozelle Penland Holland and stepfather Red Holland, foster sons James Downing, Terry Myers, grandsons Chase Boyce and Brock Camp.
Barbara is survived by her children; Rocky Camp and wife Leslie, Penny Boyce and husband Charlie, Shawn Camp and wife Patti Riordan, Samantha Fischer and husband David; foster son Rickey Myers; grandchildren James Camp, Tobi Garza, Braydon Camp, Alexie Boyce, Tera Hall, Anna Hughes , Chad Freeman, Kori Camp, Kalyn Camp, Taylor Loden, and Liam Fischer along with 22 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday November 25th from 6pm to 8pm at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday November 26th beginning at 10am at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home followed by interment at Copperas Cove City Cemetery.
Barbara Ann Camp Gividen was a compassionate and faithful individual whose legacy of generosity and community service will be remembered by all who knew her.
