

Barry had a 35-year career as a defense contractor, including laser optics. Lockheed Martin selected Barry to represent them at the Paris air show and many other events. He has been all over the world, including Egypt. He loved to take pictures, and some of the pictures of helicopters are displayed at the company headquarters in Orlando, Florida. Barry was a field services engineer with the military during Operation Desert Storm, and he was proud to represent Lockheed Martin. They gave him the equivalent rank of major while he was there. He loved working in and around Apache helicopters. He enjoyed helping the military for all those years. He spent one year working at NASA and was involved in logistics and quality control for the International Space Station. Karon and Barry have been married for 45 years, and they have a 28-year-old daughter, Jessie. Jessie will miss her dad teaching her all kinds of facts and providing movie commentary. He is also survived by his father Jim Wilkinson , 91 of Copperas Cove, Texas and his brother Roger Wilkinson of Rowlett, Texas. Barry was very intelligent and was a member of Mensa. Barry loved his two pugs and could talk about any topic with anyone, and his knowledge and friendship will be missed.
A Graveside Service will take place at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Pearl Cemetery in Pearl, Texas with reception to follow at the Pearl School House across the street from the cemetery. The family encourages those who attend to join them in sharing memories and celebrating Barry's life.
