Belinda Marquez Juarez went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2016 after a fierce battle with a rare cancer. She was with her beloved family. Belinda was born in Crane, Texas on June 17, 1964. She attended school in McCamey. In high school she was in the band, played basketball, tennis, and was a cheerleader. She also ran track and still was able to earn grades that allowed her to be in the Honor Society. From there she went to San Marcos and earned a Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University.
Belinda was the epitome of a teacher and counselor. She began her teaching career in Lubbock where she taught elementary school for a few years. Then when teaching in Odessa, San Antonio, and McCamey she impacted the lives of children from elementary to junior high grade levels. While being an exemplary teacher in the classroom, she earned a Master’s degree in counseling from Sul Ross University in Alpine, Texas.
When her husband was transferred by the military to Fort Hood, Belinda and her family moved to Copperas Cove. For the past eighteen years she worked with students at Copperas Cove High School. She served as their counselor, mentor, surrogate parent and friend. Belinda was a Christian and parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She served as a CCD teacher, volunteered for various fundraisers and activities and was devote in her faith in Jesus Christ.
Belinda leaves behind her treasured children, Eric and Marisa, her husband, Henry, her parents, sisters and her brother. There are many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly. Belinda cared about people and she believed in God. When she didn’t know what to do or say, she referred back to her faith and often would remark, “Only the Lord” because she knew that only He could understand that which she could not. Philippines 4:6-8 tells us to look toward what is good and lovely and to pray often. Please remember this when you remember Belinda Juarez.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June, 2, 2016 at the Lea Ledger Auditorium at Copperas Cove High School. Rosary will be recited Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McCamey, Texas followed by a Catholic Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in McCamey.
