Brendon Gage Thompson, 24, of McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas. Interment will follow at the Coleman City Cemetery, 1600 E 9th Street, Coleman, Texas. Brendon was born March 27, 1996 in Brownwood, Texas to Kara Dela Rosa and later adopted by Travis Thompson, who, along with Kara, raised Brendon from the age of 1. Brendon graduated from Copperas Cove High School where he played football and participated in debate and the Explorer’s Program. After graduating, Brendon lived with, and helped care for, his cousin, Zavier Dela Rosa, during Zavier’s extended battle with aggressive brain cancer. Following Zavier’s death in 2017, Brendon moved to Pennsylvania where he worked as a security guard for Chesley Brown International. Brendon loved music and video games. He was known for his unique world view as well as his willingness and ability to discuss and debate his views with anyone who had the time. Brendon is survived by his mother, Kara (Dela Rosa) Thompson; father, Travis Thompson; siblings, Tristan, Victoria, and Ashton Thompson; half-brother, Ramsey Berry; aunts and uncles, Shara and Willie Stewart, and Connie Bryant, Cheryl and Aaron Crouch; Patrick and Sara Thompson; cousins Jacob, Braylon, and Brielle Stewart, and Noel and Elijah Crouch, Logan and Jack Thompson; grandparents, Holli Boyle, Pamela and David Hinds, and Guy and Joann Thompson; great grandmother, Sarah Boyle; extended family, Carla and Gary Don Berry; and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents Gus and Pauline Dela Rosa, and Guy and Jessie Thompson; great grandfather Lloyd Boyle; grandfather, Steve Dela Rosa; uncle, Rory Dela Rosa; and cousins, Ainslee and Zavier Dela Rosa. The family will welcome friends and loved ones at a visitation on Monday, May 25, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 211 W Avenue B, Copperas Cove, Texas. A second visitation will be held immediately prior to the funeral service from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Davis-Morris Funeral Home.
