

Carlton Robert Wilson was born in Guyana, South America. He migrated with his family to the United States of America in the 1980s for a better life, believing in the American dream. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York and achieved one of his dreams by enlisting in the United States Army. On July 23rd, 1993, Carlton enlisted at the Military Enrollment Processing Station (MEPS) in Fort Hamilton, New York while still attending High School and was assigned to the 1208th U S Army Hospital in Reserve status. After graduating from High School in June 1994, Carlton left immediately for Basic Training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri where he would move on to Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Sam Houston, TX. With his outstanding performance as the Class Leader, and leadership prompting, Carlton enlisted into the Active-Duty Army status.
Carlton served 13 years on Active Duty as an Enlisted Soldier attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class (SFC -E7). Carlton served several assignments that he loved but has always mentioned that the one he loved the most was as a Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC) Instructor which he held for two years. He was later assigned to the Air CAV Brigade as Task Force ODIN (Observe, Detect, Identify, and Neutralize) from 2006-2007. This unit was a United States Army Aviation Battalion created in August 2006 and was usually transported by aircraft to conduct the critical, traditional Cavalry missions of Reconnaissance, Surveillance and Target Acquisitions, also known as (RSTA). It’s operations neutralized combat insurgent operators of improvised explosive devices in Iraq.
While serving as a Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), Carlton deployments included both combat and humanitarian. In March 2008, Carlton was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant, Quartermaster Officer. He was tasked on leadership recommendation, to deploy in support of the Multinational Forces and Observers (MFO) in Sinai, Egypt because he had already completed training and was designated as being Security Risk Category (SRC) qualified.
Carlton served as the Deputy SPO, streamlining and supporting transportation for the MFO which encompassed North Camp, South Camp and 30 outstations. His numerous other assignments included Assistant SPO 1st SBN Multinational Forces and Observer, (Sinai, Egypt), Whiskey CO XO and BN S2/S3 266th QM BN (Fort Lee, VA), Brigade Deputy S4, 4BCT, 1CAV (Fort Hood, TX), Security Forces Assistance Advisory Team (SFAAT) Logistic Mentor, 4BCT, 1CAV (Kabul, Afghanistan), SPO Supply and Services, 15th BSB, 2BCT, 1CAV, (Fort Hood, TX), 2ID SBDE SPO Planner (Camp Carroll, Korea) and Brigade Assistant S4, 1ACB, 1CAV (Fort Hood, TX).
Carlton pursued and successfully completed both military and professional education pathways. Carlton’s professional education included undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Science (BS) from Excelsior University and Master of Arts (MA) in History from Texas A&M University Central Texas.
This amazing Soldier’s Military Awards and decorations include the following: a Bronze Star Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (10th Award), Army Achievement Medal (3rd Award), Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal (3rd Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NCO Professional Development (numeral 3), Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Ribbon (5th Award), MFO Medal (numeral 2), Korean Defense Service Ribbon (2nd Award), NATO Medal (2nd Award), Army Superior Unit Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Parachutist Badge.
After serving 28 years in the military, Carlton later retired as a Captain to spend the rest of his life going on adventures with his family. Some of those adventures consisted of annual Christmas trips, football games, birthday parties, dance recitals, soccer games, and driving lessons. Making memories to last forever.
Carlton survived by his Grandmother Roberta, parents Carl and Clarene, brothers Rawle Stephen, Errol Stephen, Carlson Bacchus, Carl Bacchus Jr, Charles Wilson, Carlos Bacchus, Xavier Schouten, Kevin Bryce, Steven Bryce and sisters Rushell Torres-Pabon, Tandika Harwkker, Shondel Wilson, Carlene Bacchus. Wife Marizel, daughters Nichalia and Carleigh and sons Ian and Carlisle.
