Carlton E. Ashcraft

Carlton E. Ashcraft was born in Pine Bluff, AR on February 7, 1935 to the late Ira Devoe Ashcraft and Viola Rodgers Ashcraft.

On March 2, 1957 while stationed in Kornwestheim, Germany Carlton married Ida Knoll.

Carlton served in the United State Army for more than 20 years. During his service to his Country, he earned medals such as the National Defense Service Medal; the Motor Vehicle Driver Badge and the Good Conduct Medal Clasp, Bronze, 5 Loops.

He also retired from the Copperas Cove Fire Department.

Carlton is also preceded in death by his wife Ida, their son Ronnie and a brother Raymond.

He is survived by a daughter, Christine Thompson of Copperas Cove, TX, a son Anthony Ashcraft of Burleson, TX and granddaughters Shannon Thompson of Kempner, TX and Casey Saldivar of Schertz, TX.

The Ashcraft family will welcome guests for coffee at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 in the fellowship hall of Immanuel Lutheran Church Copperas Cove. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM -11:00 Am at Immanuel Lutheran Church Copperas Cove. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Copperas Cove City Cemetery.

Biography

      SSG (Ret.) Carlton E. Ashcraft was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Carlton will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

      Simply stated, Carlton was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Carlton leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember SSG (Ret.) Carlton E. Ashcraft.
