Cathy A Shea Lixey

Loved by all who knew her, Cathy Ann Lixey, 62, of Kempner, surrounded by family, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on May 5, 2013. Cathy was born in Pontiac, MI on December 9, 1950 to Earl Shea and Helen Zapatochny. She was a loving and devoted wife to her husband, Walter, for 43 years with whom she traveled the world and shared many wonderful adventures. She was a wonderful mother to her loving sons and daughters-in-law, Shawn, Holly, Brian and Kimberly. She loved being a grandmother for and spending time with Ella, Ashlyn, Faith, and Kyle who will miss her with all their heart. Cathy was little sister to her brothers, Don, Ralph, and Michael; and “sissy” for her little sister Michele. She was also a devoted friend and loved spending time with her “gal pals”. Cathy worked in the Copperas Cove Independent School District for 28 years as a teacher and registrar, where she made life-long friends and made an impact on too many students to count.

Service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 1001 Georgetown Rd. in Copperas Cove on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 1pm. In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests that contributions be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
