Charles Cooper Jr.

Charles was born October 28, 1939 in Warwood, PA to Charles Leroy Cooper, Sr. and Gertrude Mary (Logan) Cooper.

He has lived in the Copperas Cove since 1973. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

Charles served in the United States Army while serving he received the Good Conduct Medal Clasp with one Silver Loop; the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal; the Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars and the Bronze Star Medal. He retired from the United States Army in 1977.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1992 and his father in 1998.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years Eva E. Cooper of Copperas Cove; a son Charles E. Cooper and his wife Jennifer of New Braunsfels; a daughter, Monica E. Weidinger of Copperas Cove and five grandchildren, Justin B. Weidinger, Devin S. Weidinger, Joshua A. Cooper, Jenna Cooper and Ciara Cooper.

A service remembering Charles’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8577, 1506 Veterans Avenue, Copperas Cove with Chaplain S. Perry officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Copperas Cove.
