Connor Martin Hedge

Connor Martin Hedge, age 5, was given his angel wings on Sunday, July 10th at his home after over four years of battling Neuroblastoma, a pediatric cancer. He was diagnosed at the age of 18 months shortly after the birth of his little sister.

He fought many tough battles at several hospitals across the country with the strength and courage few could endure. Connor always had a bright and beautiful smile through all of his trials. He was passionate about his family and friends, and he loved monster trucks, cars, dinosaurs, nerf guns, and animals. He attended kindergarten at House Creek Elementary, and was an honorary member of the Copperas Cove High School class of 2016.

Connor is survived by his parents, Kristen and Rob Hedge, sister Lily, grandparents Elaine Hampton, Roy (Debbie) Hampton, Lynne Caroe, and Bob (Kathleen) Hedge. Aunts and uncles include Amy Hampton, Lisa Hampton, Megan (Gavin) Denz, Shari (Ari) Molina, Adam (Patricia) Thorstad, Ryan Thorstad, David (Melissa) Hedge, William (Brittney) Hedge, Zachary Hedge, and numerous great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Connor and his family were warmly embraced by the Copperas Cove community and especially House Creek Elementary and Copperas Cove High School over the past year. His extended family includes employees at Net Jets, The Kimberly Hotel, Hilton Family of Hotels, members of the Army at Ft. Hood, as well as the many doctors, nurses, and care givers at the hospitals where he was a patient for a great deal of his life. His life story touched and inspired many people across the country and around the world.

A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2016 from 5 PM – 7PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove. A 12 PM Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at House Creek Elementary School.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Connor Hedge Memorial Fund for a lasting memorial in his honor at House Creek Elementary School and can be made online through the Willowtree Foundation by using the Connor Hedge Memorial Fund link at www.willowtreerva.org or in his name at any Wells Fargo location.
